Take a Stance Against Bullying
We must recognize that bullying has become an international epidemic, no longer restricted to children and teens, but also effecting people of all ages. Statistics now prove that many child and teen bully’s carry these behavior traits into adulthood, often resulting in cyberbullying, and even violent criminal tendencies.
As parents, we must learn to recognize the difference between attractive, positive, and assertive behavior, as opposed to more negative and intimidating behavior traits in our children. We must discipline and teach accordingly when we see negative tendencies in our children, and we must also learn to be alert to symptoms of victimized children, teens, and even adults. The whole story can be found at http://www.education.com/reference/article/cyberbullying-assessment-high-school/ Because the seriousness of this issue has escalated so rapidly over recent years, information, booklets, and other recourses to help teach us to recognize, prevent, protect ourselves, and fight bullying are offered at many schools, libraries, and even some law enforcement agencies. There are also numerous on line sites devoted solely to teaching us to detect and deter bullying.
As a civilized society, we must all make greater efforts to discourage domineering mannerisms in those around us. We can help protect ourselves and our loved ones by taking a stance of ‘zero tolerence’ toward all levels of bullying.
